Michigan Indian Associations
Michigan is home to several Indian community associations.
Every Indian community whether it is Tamils, Telugus, Malayalees, Bengalis, Punjabis, Marathis or Kannadigas has their own association.
Besides language based associations, there are organizations representing the interests of students, physicians, women and Indian Catholics as well.
Michigan Indian associations are active and often organize events to celebrate prominent Indian festivals and events like Ganesh Chaturthi, Dasara, Diwali, Sankranti, Ugadi and Vishu Indian Independence Day, Republic Day that bond the community.
Most of these events include cultural programs like Music concerts, Bhangra, Bollywood dance and as well as food counters serving Mysore Masala Dosa, Idly, Tandoori Chicken, Dokhla, Samosa, Dum Biryani etc.
